History and Philosophy of Biology Blog

There's a new philosophy of biology blog in town administered by Sahorta Sarkar. It's called the Sarkar Lab WebLog.

Blog topics include (to name a few) biodiversity, conservation biology, conservation planning, formal epistemology, history and philosophy of biology, and war against the environment.

One entry (access by clicking here) offers a link to a website that argues the Bush administration is winning the war against science.

Early Analytic Philosophy Resource

Everyone with a research interest in early analytic philosophy should check out Steve Bayne's resource page by clicking here. It has a few valuable posts.

Also, the new organization the History of Early Analytic Philosophy Society (HEAPS for short) will soon have a listserv of their own. When a listserv is established, I will offer a hyperlink to in a future blog.

What scares me?

With the quickly approaching election, I performed a sweep of candidates' websites seeking to hold a legislative office come 2005. Most of the websites were relatively tame. One was particularly frightening.

The candidate is the Republican nominee for the U.S. Congress's 8th District seat for the great state of Tennessee. His name is James Hart, but you can call him Adolf for short. It seems that James wants to institute a "gene" cleansing program or what he calls a "War on Poverty" genes.

Is this the best candidate the Republican party can produce?

James's website is available here.
